    Kinnor (Hebrew: כִּנּוֹר ‎) is an ancient Israelite musical instrument in the yoke lutes family, the first one to be mentioned in the Old Testament.. Its exact identification is unclear, but in the modern day it is generally translated as "harp" or "lyre": and associated with a type of lyre depicted in Israelite imagery, particularly the Bar Kochba fication: String instrument. The title is derived from the Greek translation, ψαλμοί, psalmoi.

Yet the instrument, kinnor, translated "harp" in the King James Version of the Bible, was not a harp at all, but a lyre. David’s harp 1 Samuel When David became a young man, he began to work as King Saul’s private musician.
